WWE Tough Enough 3
RNG Predictions
Compiled by Philip N. Zeman, Editor-in-Chief
10.23.2002
Welcome to ASM's "WWE Tough Enough 3" RNG Predictions! You might
be asking yourself, "'RNG'? What's 'RNG'?" Well, we here at ASM
believe in numbers, in technology -- things that can be explained by
science. We don't, however, believe in spending weeks watching reality
shows. Therefore, to use science to predict winners of a show we won't
watch -- and therefore, not base our predictions on unreliable things
such as feelings and emotions -- we utilize an RNG, a random number
generator to predict the winner.
I hear some of you scoffing. Do not mock numbers and technology; without
either, there would be no Internet, no World Wide Web, and, therefore, no
ASM. See what technology can bring you?
To pick the winners, first, we needed to get a list of contestants. These
were taken from http://wwetoughenough.com.
So as not to introduce any bias or weighting, these names were written down
as presented on the website. Then, our random number generator chose the
first person to be cut. That name was removed from the list, and the
generator chose the second name, etc. When the list was narrowed down to
the final four names, we changed the action of the program. The next two
names to be listed were the winners of WWE TE3, not the next two
people to be cut. After all, that's how they've done it on the previous
two seasons.
Here's how this will work. Every time an episode airs and there have
been cuts, we will compare the program to our predicted cuts. Then, a new
set of RNG picks will be generated and posted, but rather than replacing
the previous set, it will be added to our table. That way, we can see if
our RNG system gets "smarter" as time goes on. Also, if there was more than
one cut per episode, only one new RNG set will be compiled; the current
table is written as though there will be only one cut per episode.
Why would we keep any incorrect picks in the table? Why not destroy
the evidence? Well, we want as much statistical data as possible, In
addition, we here at ASM have nothing to hide.
We also have nothing to gain, which is good, since we don't expect a high
percentage of correct picks....

Analysis:
11.22.2002: Yeah. We know....
11.15.2002: What can we say? We suck.
11.8.2002: Wow. We seem to be mired in sucktitude.
11.1.2002: Well, two weeks down, two quitters, and no right picks by
the ASM RNG System. Of course, they weren't cut, they
quit, so maybe... nah. Let's just chalk it up to sunspots. Yeah,
sunspots.
