Text and Photos by Daniel "SwiftEagle" Lipkowitz PART 10: BEAST MACHINES DEPLOYERS AND BEAST RIDERSWarning! All pictures are linked to high-quality scans! Expect larger load times if you click on the links. Finally, we have the Big Wall of Toys. Mostly carded and boxed Beast Machines which have already been released in the US, plus a few Primal Primes and Ultra Jetstorms, but package mock-ups for the Deployers and Beast Riders were also on display. These were obviously early-stage sample packages, as the Megatron Beast Rider shows a photograph of an unpainted prototype and calls the item "Heroic Maximal Mega." I was told that the Deployers and head-tanks are compatible in some fashion; I'm guessing that weapon-mode Deployers attach to Beast Riders to form mobile weapons platforms, but I don't know for certain. Both are a Hasbro Direct (the generally lower-cost branch of Hasbro responsible for 12" Star Wars toys and various promotions) project, not created by the designers of the main line of Transformers toys. And that's the end! I hope that my ramblings have proven informative and that these photographs make up for last year's lamentably blurry shots. My most sincere thanks to all of the generous folks at Hasbro who made this report possible, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for the Transformers!
Part 1: Fox Kids' Beast Wars Altered States Magazine would especially like to thank the kind folks at Hasbro and Benson Yee of www.bwtf.com for their help.
