TOY FAIR 2001: [Remember - every picture links to a larger size!]
MEGATRON (Ultra) Megatron (formerly Gigatron) is described on his box as transforming from "Robot to Gargoyle." Presumably, this will be changed before production to indicate the toy's much-touted six-to-ten transformation modes (the extra four modes were added to the instructions with Gigatron's white repaint and minor remold, Devil Gigatron, but both versions can transform into all of the modes, although the Devil Elephant configuration is less stable for the original). We are still not certain whether this is meant to be the original Megatron or the Beast Wars/Beast Machines Megatron, since he is fighting Optimus Prime in the rewritten storyline but leads a group of Predacons.
